Writing & Building the story
Writing & Building The Story
During Pre-Poduction I had to develop the Directors idea into a script.
We worked from morning to late evenings.
We used several different types of tools to our benefit.
Outside of writing and endless discussions, we worked parallel with Story Maps, Story Boards and Graphs of all kinds, from Emotional Dread and everything in between to Sweat Level Graphs.
We made story sessions, where we brainstormed ideas with the rest of the team. We would read from the bare bones of the script, the established story beats, and then set a timer for people to quickly make a storyboard on post-its.
The Director would then gather her favorite moments and "Frankenstein" them into a Master Storyboard that we then continued to work from.
It was important to gather as much opinion as possible for her to then filter it in to the story I would then write.
During our Research Field Trip to Skive Kaserne we also pitched the story to the EOD technicians to ensure that an actual professional could agree and identify with the story. The research field trip also informed us on how to solve our current story issues. All In all Working parallel helped us to develop the film.
To our assistance we had Great Story Supervisors;
We also recieved story consulting by Tomer Calacuda

ORGANIZATIONAL WORK STRUCTURE
(HOW WE WORK)
CHAIN OF RESPONSIBILITY
To create the most knit-tight workflow we decided to organize ourselves around a chain-hierarchy or as we like to call it, Chain Of Responsibility.
This means that everyone in the team has a responsibility they share with other team members. The director can then delegate to the different departments and within those, the departments themselves can delegate and divide tasks, relieving the directors workload.
The idea is to get every team member, involved and engaged with the project, and create connection to the intertwining departments during pre-production and production. This way, everybody gets a broader view.
for example: If a team member is on sick leave, their assistant or connected department will be able to continue their work, because everybody is on the same page.
RESEARCH FIELD TRIP's
We visited Skive Kaserne to get inspired and educated on the matter of bombs,
also knows as Explosive Devices.
Our trip has had a huge positive affect on our project and has informed our story,
to concept and design and even into production when it comes to modelling and texturing.
We thank the wonderful people over at Skive Kaserne for the opportunity to come
and learn about the world of Bombs & EOD Technicians
We visited EON Reality in Viborg to gather knowledge on the available
resources and accessible tools for using Motion Capture in our film.
The lovely people from Rokoko whom held a inspiring presentation and
also had the opportunity to try out their amazing suit.
Big thanks to the people at EON reality for hosting this great event.
